The centre provides:

• Treatment for sexual infection
• Sexual health check ups

• Ongoing support and treatment/care for people living with HIV
• Family planning
• Hepatitis screening and vaccination
• Cervical smear tests and colposcopy
• Condoms
• Sexual dysfunction sessions
• Management of genital skin conditions

Family Planning Services

This is a walk-in or appointment service, apart from implants and coil fitting (by appointment only), at a number of sites in Bolton.

The service provides:

• Sexual health advice
• Emergency contraception
• Free condoms and other contraceptives
• Support
• Pregnancy testing
• Advice on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Family planning clinics are provided at the following venues and times:

The Parallel, Churchgate (for young people under 19yrs)

Contraceptive services are provided as part of the General Health drop-in clinics which run at the following times:

Mon 3.30 - 6.30pm; Tues 2.30 - 5.00pm; Wed 3.30 - 6.30pm; Fri 3.30 - 6.30pm

Other Clinics:

An appointment and drop-in family planning service is provided at Lever Chambers, Pikes Lane, Farnworth and Halliwell health centre. To book an appointment telephone 01204 390771 and select option 2 Monday-Friday.

The Counselling Directory

The purpose of the site is ultimately to provide the UK with a huge counselling support network, enabling those in distress to find a counsellor close to them and appropriate for their needs. This is a free, confidential service that will hopefully encourage those in distress to seek help. The website also contains a number of sections on emotional disorders (types of distress section) and provides some useful statistics. Every counsellor on the site who has submitted their profile has either sent a copy of their qualifications and insurance cover to us, or is registered with a professional body online with recognised codes of ethics and practice, this way we can be assured of their professionalism.
